Terms of Use and Course Purchase Terms

Effective date: 24 October 2026
Last updated: 24 October 2026

These Terms govern use of The Fund Accountant website, free assessments, course information and paid educational services.

Please read them before using the website or purchasing a course.

1. Business operator

The Fund Accountant is a trading name operated by Dipankar Mukherjee, a sole proprietor trading as The Fund Accountant at 201, Bangur Avenue, Kolkata – 700055, West Bengal, India.

In these Terms, “The Fund Accountant”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that business operator.

Business tax information:

  • GSTIN: 19AJKPM9629A1ZY
  • SAC heading: 9992 — Education services

SAC heading 9992 is a broad classification for education services. The tax treatment, detailed service classification, applicable rate and place-of-supply treatment depend on the transaction and applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms represents that a course is GST-exempt.

Complete business-correspondence information is available on the Contact page.

2. Agreement to these Terms

By using the website, creating an academy account, purchasing a course or accessing paid course material, you agree to these Terms and any policies incorporated by reference.

For a paid course, the contract may also include:

  • the course description;
  • the syllabus shown before purchase;
  • the price and access period;
  • checkout disclosures;
  • our Refund and Cancellation Policy;
  • our Privacy Notice; and
  • mandatory terms of the academy or payment provider.

If you do not agree, do not purchase or access a paid course.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a right that cannot legally be excluded.

3. Eligibility

Accounts and purchases are intended for people aged 18 or over. You must be at least 18 and legally capable of entering a contract to create a paid learner account or purchase a course. A person under 18 must not independently create a paid learner account or purchase a course.

We do not currently offer a verified parental or guardian consent workflow. An informal guardian email does not authorise an under-18 account or purchase.

If you use the service on behalf of an employer or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for that organisation.

4. Educational services

The Fund Accountant provides educational material relating to fund accounting and related professional topics.

The website may provide:

  • course descriptions;
  • free assessments;
  • worked examples;
  • educational resources;
  • articles;
  • course previews; and
  • links to The Fund Accountant Academy.

Paid courses may include:

  • recorded lessons;
  • calculations and examples;
  • downloadable materials;
  • assessments;
  • completion certificates;
  • discussion features; and
  • learner support.

The exact content and features of a course are those stated on its applicable course page and checkout at the time of purchase.

5. Academy and third-party services

Course checkout, hosting, learner accounts and content delivery may be provided through third-party academy platforms used by The Fund Accountant, including Graphy and TrainerCentral. The platform applicable to your purchase will be identified during enrolment or in your access instructions.

The applicable academy platform, payment processors and other service providers may have separate terms and privacy notices.

Their terms do not replace our responsibilities to you, and our Terms do not replace obligations that independently apply between you and those providers.

We are not responsible for an independent third-party service beyond the extent required by applicable law, but we will reasonably assist with issues concerning a course purchased from us.

6. Course information

Please review the course page before purchasing, including:

  • intended audience;
  • prior knowledge;
  • syllabus;
  • learning format;
  • access period;
  • included features;
  • language;
  • technical requirements; and
  • any stated limitations.

Course descriptions are intended to be accurate, but minor non-material changes may be made to improve clarity, quality, security or technical delivery.

We will not materially reduce the purchased course without an appropriate reason and remedy where required by law.

7. Prices, GST, taxes and payment

Course prices, currency, discounts and applicable taxes are shown at checkout.

The Fund Accountant’s tax details are:

  • GSTIN: 19AJKPM9629A1ZY
  • SAC heading: 9992 — Education services

The applicable GST treatment may depend on:

  • the detailed service classification;
  • customer location;
  • place of supply;
  • customer tax status;
  • whether the transaction is domestic or international; and
  • applicable law at the time of supply.

Payment is processed by the academy or authorised payment provider.

You must provide accurate billing and transaction information.

We do not intentionally receive or store complete card numbers, card PINs, one-time passwords or complete card-security codes.

You are responsible for:

  • checking the price and currency;
  • using an authorised payment method;
  • reviewing any foreign-exchange or bank charges; and
  • retaining your payment confirmation and invoice.

Applicable taxes and invoice details are shown through the checkout for your transaction.

8. Course access

Unless a course page or checkout states otherwise, currently available self-paced courses provide 365 days of access from enrolment.

Access is personal to the registered learner.

Access does not mean that the learner owns the course or its content.

You are responsible for maintaining compatible:

  • internet access;
  • browser and device software;
  • academy credentials; and
  • reasonable device security.

Temporary maintenance or service interruptions may occur.

We will take reasonable steps to restore access, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.

9. Accounts and credentials

You must provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current.

You must not:

  • share an account or password;
  • permit another person to take a course or assessment through your account;
  • sell, transfer or sublicense access;
  • impersonate another person;
  • bypass device, access or security controls; or
  • use another learner’s account.

Notify us promptly at info@thefundaccountant.com if you believe an account has been compromised.

10. Personal course licence

When you purchase a course, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the course for your own education during the applicable access period.

This licence does not transfer ownership or intellectual-property rights.

Downloads expressly made available by us may be retained for personal study, subject to these Terms. They may not be shared, sold, uploaded or used to create another product or service.

11. Prohibited use of course content

Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you must not:

  • copy or reproduce substantial parts of a course;
  • record or redistribute videos or audio;
  • systematically capture course pages or lessons through screenshots;
  • share downloadable materials;
  • publish assessment questions or answer banks;
  • upload course material to file-sharing, social, messaging or course platforms;
  • translate, adapt or create a competing course from our materials;
  • remove watermarks, copyright notices or ownership information;
  • scrape or automatically extract course content;
  • use course content to train, evaluate or populate an artificial-intelligence model or dataset;
  • sell, rent, sublicense or commercially exploit the content;
  • share account access; or
  • assist another person in doing any of these things.

Reasonable personal notes created through genuine study are permitted, provided they do not reproduce or distribute substantial course content.

12. Intellectual property

Course videos, recordings, text, explanations, examples, calculations, diagrams, assessments, questions, answer explanations, downloads, branding and website content are owned by or licensed to The Fund Accountant.

General accounting principles, laws, standards, facts and methods are not claimed as exclusive property where they are not legally protectable.

Our rights apply to the original expression, selection, arrangement, recordings and materials created or licensed for the courses.

“The Fund Accountant” name, logo and associated branding must not be used in a manner that implies permission, partnership or endorsement without written approval.

13. Instructor role

Bonhi Mukhopadhyaya is the Lead Instructor and contributes teaching and subject-matter expertise.

Her role as instructor and public teaching representative does not make her:

  • the proprietor;
  • legal operator;
  • merchant of record;
  • contracting business; or
  • person personally responsible for business obligations,

unless a separate written document expressly states otherwise.

The business is operated by Dipankar Mukherjee as identified in these Terms.

14. Assessments, certificates and outcomes

Free and paid assessments are educational tools.

Scores and topic feedback:

  • are not professional licences;
  • are not employment assessments;
  • do not establish professional competence;
  • do not guarantee interview success; and
  • do not guarantee employment, promotion, salary, examination success or investment outcomes.

A completion certificate records completion under the stated course requirements. It is not a professional qualification or employment guarantee unless expressly stated otherwise.

We do not provide placement, recruitment, CV-writing or guaranteed job-support services unless a specific service is separately and expressly offered.

15. Educational disclaimer

Course material is provided for education.

It is not:

  • investment advice;
  • legal advice;
  • tax advice;
  • audit advice;
  • regulatory advice; or
  • a substitute for an employer’s, fund’s, administrator’s or professional adviser’s policies and judgement.

Examples may simplify facts for teaching purposes.

Learners remain responsible for checking the rules, agreements, valuation policies, accounting standards and procedures applicable to their actual work.

16. Discussion forums and learner submissions

Discussion forums are provided for course-related learning and support.

You must not post:

  • confidential employer or client information;
  • investor or fund information;
  • personal data about another person;
  • unlawful or misleading content;
  • abusive, discriminatory or harassing content;
  • unauthorised copyrighted material;
  • advertising or spam; or
  • malware or harmful links.

You retain ownership of original content you submit.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate and support the relevant service.

We may remove content or restrict forum access where reasonably necessary for safety, legality, confidentiality or compliance with these Terms.

17. Refunds and cancellations

Course purchases are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, course purchases are final once enrolment has been completed or access has been activated.

Review the Refund Policy before purchasing.

18. Service and marketing communications

We may send service communications reasonably necessary to manage your enquiry, purchase, account or course.

These may include:

  • payment and invoice confirmations;
  • enrolment and course-access information;
  • account and security notices;
  • responses to support requests;
  • certificate information;
  • changes materially affecting a purchased course; and
  • legally required notices.

You are responsible for providing a working email address and keeping your academy contact information reasonably current.

We may also send occasional marketing emails about our courses, webinars, educational resources and promotional offers, but only where we have an appropriate legal basis.

Marketing consent:

  • is separate from these Terms;
  • is not required to purchase a course;
  • must not be preselected where consent is required;
  • may be withdrawn at any time; and
  • does not affect necessary course or account communications.

Each marketing email will contain an unsubscribe method.

You may also request to stop marketing emails by contacting info@thefundaccountant.com.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not cancel a course, close an academy account or stop service communications necessary to provide an existing purchase.

19. Promotions and discounts

Promotional offers may have:

  • eligibility requirements;
  • start and end dates;
  • usage limits;
  • course restrictions; and
  • additional offer terms.

A later promotion or price reduction does not create a right to a retrospective discount or refund.

Any code, eligibility requirement and expiry date will be stated in the applicable offer terms.

20. Service changes

We may update:

  • examples;
  • lesson order;
  • presentation;
  • technical delivery;
  • platform integrations;
  • security controls; and
  • supporting materials.

We will not intentionally remove the fundamental substance of a purchased course without a reasonable justification and any remedy required by applicable law.

Courses marked “coming soon” are not available for purchase until enrolment is expressly opened.

21. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe that a learner has:

  • shared an account;
  • redistributed course content;
  • attempted unauthorised access;
  • posted unlawful or harmful content;
  • harassed another user;
  • used the service fraudulently;
  • initiated an unresolved payment reversal; or
  • materially breached these Terms.

Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to explain or correct the issue.

Immediate action may be taken where reasonably necessary to protect security, users, intellectual property or legal obligations.

Suspension does not remove any non-waivable consumer right.

22. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Notice.

The applicable academy platform, payment providers and external platforms may also apply their own privacy notices.

23. Complaints and support

For a course, account, payment or Terms-related issue, contact:

info@thefundaccountant.com

Include:

  • your name;
  • registered email;
  • course name;
  • transaction reference, where relevant; and
  • a clear description of the issue.

We may request reasonable information needed to investigate and verify the account. Do not send passwords, one-time passwords or full payment-card details. Where legally applicable, complaints are acknowledged within 48 hours, a copy or reference of the complaint as recorded is provided where required, and complaints are addressed within one month or the legally applicable period.

24. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including any liability that applicable law requires us to retain.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • we are not responsible for employment, interview, promotion, investment or professional outcomes;
  • we are not responsible for losses caused solely by inaccurate information supplied by the learner;
  • we are not responsible for a learner’s failure to follow employer, client, fund, legal or professional requirements;
  • we are not responsible for an independent third-party service beyond our legal responsibility; and
  • we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

Where the law permits a financial limitation, our total liability concerning a particular paid course will not exceed the amount paid to us for that course.

This limitation must not be applied where it would be unfair or legally prohibited.

Any responsibility to reimburse us for your misuse is limited, to the extent permitted by law, to reasonable direct losses caused by your unlawful use or material breach of these Terms. It does not cover our own fault, require payment of disputed amounts without due process or limit mandatory consumer rights.

25. Events outside reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including major internet, hosting, platform, payment, utility, natural-disaster, governmental or cybersecurity events.

We will take reasonable steps to reduce disruption and restore affected services.

This section does not remove a remedy required by applicable law.

26. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

Subject to any mandatory consumer right to bring a claim elsewhere, courts with jurisdiction in Kolkata, West Bengal, India will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms.

Before starting formal proceedings, both parties should attempt in good faith to resolve the issue through the contact process in these Terms.

Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from using a mandatory regulator, consumer forum or dispute-resolution process available under applicable law.

27. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our courses, providers, technology, communication practices, business practices or legal obligations change.

The effective and last-updated dates will be displayed at the top.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, the Terms accepted or presented at the time of purchase will normally govern that purchase.

A later update will not retrospectively remove a right that already arose.

28. General provisions

If one provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally possible.

A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.

You may not transfer your course contract or account without written permission.

We may transfer business obligations as part of a genuine sale, restructuring or transfer of the business, subject to applicable law and appropriate notice.

These Terms, applicable course information and incorporated policies form the agreement concerning the purchased course.
